Elizabeth Leathers Berry, Was The Daughter Of Mary Blalock#
Elizabeth Berry was born before David J. Berry married Mary Blalock. She is not blood related to the Berry family but David J. Berry adopted his step daughter and she was raised with his own children. As far as I know there is no knowledge of who she married or what kind of life she was able to make for herself after David J. Berry and her mother, Mary Blalock, died. Elizabeth was the illegitimate daughter of William Riley, who was brought to court about the matter. A bastardy bond was placed on him. This is the same William Riley against whom Elizabeth Berry (daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Cate Berry) also filed a bastardy bond in August 1791.
