Wagons South and Wagons West — by Glenn Berry

Wagons South and Wagons West#

By Glenn Berry

Wagons South and Wagons West traces a branch of the Berry family from its surname’s origins in England and France, through immigration to America and service in the Revolutionary War, and on through the family’s migration south into Alabama and Mississippi and west into Texas. The book closes with a family group record, a chronology of events, an account of a Berry family reunion, and a chapter about the author.

The book carries its own bibliography of 34 sourced works, cited throughout the text by roman numeral (for example, “(III; p.4)”). That bibliography is reproduced here first, since the in-text citations don’t make sense without it.

This digital edition is being prepared for berrytree.org from a 2021 OCR scan of the original manuscript, and chapters are being added as they are checked. We are searching for the descendants of Glenn Berry and for anyone who holds the rights to this book. If that is you, or if you know the family, we would love to hear from you through our Contact page so we can talk about continuing to include the book on this site.
