THOMPSON BERRY was born December 18. 1801 in Orange County North Carolina and he died in Fayette County Alabama on January 8, 1871 Thompson Berry married Rosanah Gutman who as born in South Carolina on November 25,1803 and died on July 17,1890 in Fayette County Alabama
Thompson Berry was a very prominent businessman and the town of Berry Alabama was named for him. The pictures on this page were taken on September 10, 2008.
Standing in the picture on the left are two descendants of Robert and Elizabeth Cate Berry from Orange County North Carolina. The Lady in the picture is actualy a descendant of George Berry who was Thompson Berry’s brother. The Gentleman in this picture descends from William Berry who was Thompson Berry’s uncle. My 2 Great Grandfather, Thomas Person Berry in Orange County NC was Thompson Berry’s first cousin.
Thompson Berry was Robert and Elizabeth Cate Berry’s grandson.
In the picture on the right Thompson Berry and his wife’s memoral was placed beside his actual headstone. (seen to the right )
